Anson has been in the catering industry for 20 years, since leaving school. Having worked in local family restaurants, he then spread his wings and worked in a variety of 4* properties in and around London.
After 3 years in London, he moved to P&O Cruise Lines where he served on the Canberra and Sea Princess, before being promoted to the new Flag-Ship, Oriana as Senior Chef de Partie, overseeing the sauce section for a staggering 6000 meals per day!
On returning to dry land, Anson served three years as Head Chef at a leading hotel in Cheshire before joining the Millstone as Chef Patron in July 2002.
In his time at the Millstone, Anson has gained a second AA Rosette for food quality, and has been instrumental in advancing the food offering, using the very best of local produce and suppliers.
Despite these accolades, Anson insists that the guests come first. "We don't cook for awards, although it is always nice to receive them. Our
menus are produced to satisfy our guests, both local and residents alike."
In his spare time, Anson is a family man. He devotes all his spare time to his two children, Millie and Charlie and his wife, Sarah. However, within this busy schedule of work and home life, he manages to hold a season ticket for Bolton Wanderers, there's no accounting for taste!
